Zermatt snow report 12/02/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Zermatt

There is 250cm of snow at the top of the Zermatt ski area with 75cm in resort. There is snow predicted for today with around 10cm due to fall.

All 360km of pistes are open in the ski area of Zermatt with 45 of the 54 ski lifts also open.

Weather is set to clear over the next few days, with Wednesday and Thursday bringing bright sunshine to resort. Temperatures are set to hover around -8. Winds are set to drop off as well, with wind chill remaining low.

With consistent snow, every day is a powder day in Zermatt. Consistent overnight snow means runs are fresh, with early risers being able to enjoy first tracks on all of the runs. Snow remains fresh throughout the day, with Zermatts pistes being divided well, so trunk routes are minimal. Runs guests are particularly enjoying on hosting at the moment are RED 69, 51,72 and BLUE 36, 14 and 7.

Continuing all this week is the Swatch Freeskier cup, with a highlight occurring on Wednesday afternoon. Guests should head out over to Gornergrat on the piste to watch the “bumps and jumps”; where skiers fly through mogul fields with spectacular jumps as well. Thursday is Valentines day, so be sure to make that special someone feel amazing in what is a truly romantic setting!
