Zermatt is the ultimate ski resort, with fantastic slopes, but it is also a resort full of charm, history and culture. Be sure to visit the Matterhorn Museum in the centre of town, opposite where Edward Whympner departed from for the first successful ascent of the Matterhorn. If you have kids with you, be sure to meet Wolli in the village every Wednesday afternoon to make sure the kids get a true fix for the mountain, on it and off it!
