Zermatt Snow Report 02/04/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Zermatt

There is 270cm of snow at the top of the Zermatt ski area with 27cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  31st March with around 5cm falling.

There are 100% of pistes open in the Zermatt ski area with 83% ski lifts open.

Within the next few days we are expecting moderate snow showers, which is perfect to keep that snow layer topped up. Minimum temperatures demonstrate -7 degrees; there will be a slight wind chill of -10. Believe me this is nothing compared to the -25 temperatures we had in January. You will able to end your holiday with superb sunny weather as from Friday onwards the conditions are perfect!

We have been incredibly lucky during the past few days in relation to the amount of snow we have received. Although the weather is getting a lot warmer now the snow conditions at the top of the mountain are just as good. Because of the Easter weekend naturally there are a lot of children about, fear not the blue and red runs are still proving to be of a high standard. If you are looking for something a bit more challenging why not try the mogul bumps at Schwarzee, not only is this fun when trying to beat your friends or family but this area also offers spectacular views of the Matterhorn.  In relation to guest feedback from Ski Hosting this week runs which have proved particularly popular are number 7 into Italy, Cervinia.

Because the weather is so great this week, why not try Paragliding it really is one of the best experiences. With stunning views of the whole resort, you will not regret this decision. Additionally it has been rumoured that George Clooney has been in resort this week Zermatt. Watch this space…!
