Zermatt Snow Report 01/03/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Zermatt

There is 240cm of snow at the top of the Zermatt ski area with 50cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  25th Feb with around 5cm falling.

There are 360km of pistes open in the Zermatt ski area with 45 out of 54 ski lifts open.

Weather is set to remain clear over the next three days with forecast snow due to arrive early next week. Temperatures are set to remain relatively high for this time of the season with an average of -3. Winds are also set to remain low this week.

With Blue sky days and mild temperatures, conditions are perfect for skiers of all abilities. On Piste as well as off piste remains heavily blanketed in snow, with it remaining fresh throughout the day due to the relatively low number of guests in resort. Runs guests are particularly enjoying on Ski Hosting tours are RED 9,7, 51 and BLUE 45, 7 and 14.

With the resort currently not quite as busy as expected, be sure to make the most of opportunities sometimes a little more difficult to gain access to when away. Be sure to experience “first tracks”, the opportunity to have breakfast and then get your lines down in the snow before anyone else! If you are feeling a little more cultural on the other hand, be sure to take a guided tour of Zermatt, running every Tuesday at 4pm in English.
