Zermatt snow report 01/02/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Zermatt

There is 220cm of snow at the top of the Zermatt ski area with 75cm in resort. There was 15cm of snow fall yesterday with more forecast for the next few days.

All 360km of pistes are open here in Zermatt with 45 of the 54 lifts open also.

Heavy snow is forecast for the weekend in Zermatt, with Friday and Saturday accumulative snow predicted to be up to 30cm.  Sunday sees weather clearing briefly before more snow coming in later in the week. Temperatures remain relatively high, hovering around -8 for the weekly average. Winds increase going into the tail end of the week, with the wind chill bringing temperatures down to -23.

Zermatt has experienced changeable conditions over the past week. However heavy snow that is forecast this week is set to change conditions completely and refresh pistes that may have been as little weary. In powder, Sunegga Mountain is the perfect place to have fun. Low cloud is broken up in the trees, with fantastic blue, red, black and itinerary runs offering skiers of all abilities something to enjoy.
