Verbier Snow Report 12/03/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Verbier

There is 240cm of snow at the top of the Verbier ski area with 75cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 11th March with around 5cm falling.

There are 100% of pistes open in the Verbier ski area with 100% ski lifts open.

After yesterdays thick snowfall, 5cm falling throughout the day in total the pistes are back to having their own powder covering on them. Temperatures have dropped since last week, meaning more snow to come in the next few days. Areas such as Mont-Fort and Col Des Gentianes are particularly good at the moment, due to the off peak time of year the crowds have slackened off and this area with the fresh snow is un touched for most of the morning, the colder weather higher up is keeping the snow light and without turning to the dreaded crust.

The weather prediction for the next few days looks to be mixed, with today seeing sunny spells in the morning and snow showers in the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday will be the same with sunny parts and snowy showers on and off through the day. Friday will be a brilliant day, with all the powder from the past week, it will have bright sunshine and blue skies without a single cloud, definitely the best day of the week. Temps will get colder.
