Verbier Snow Report, 01 Feb 2011

Skier in VerbierThe sun is still out and shining in Verbier, but the snow is still fresh as temperatures have been nice and cool. The resort is slowly but steadily getting busier as February has begun.

Snow depth: 125cm of snow on the upper slopes
The weather has been steadily blue skies with the odd cloud and cold but not harsh temperatures. This has been keeping the snow intact and despite not having had much snowfall recently the pistes are still lovely to ski on, thanks to the pisteurs grooming skills.

The off piste near the chair lifts is a bit chunky having been overskiied – however  there is still great powder to be found in resort, but you have to go touring to find it, however it is the perfect weather to do so.
The weather is due to be clear and sunny for the rest of the week. With moderately cold temperatures ranging between -3 and -5c at 2450m.

This weekend there is the chance to ride down the 10km luge track to Tzoumaz on bike! The day will finish with a torch lit decent and fondue. Saturday promises to be a massive night in Pub Mont Fort as Andy Cato from Groove Armada will be hitting the decks!
