Val Thorens snow report 18.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens
There is 250cm at the top of the Val Thorens ski area and 10cm in resort. 100% of the runs are open as well.
This week we have witnessed some of the best snow of the season with over two and a half metres laying at the top point of Val Thorens. It is unlikely that we will see the quality diminish either as temperatures are reaching an all time low; today we anticipate -35 in the evening. To anyone looking to enjoy the perfect snow conditions but avoid the cool wind, I recommend taking a trip down to Les Menuires and Saint Martin de Belle Ville where slightly warmer runs can be found. To aid in the chill, the forecast predicts pure sunshine over the next few days though temperatures will remain cold. Sunday in Val Thorens brings a special event hosted by world champion monoskier Xavier Cousseau where you can watch the experts test their fastest speed and join in yourself. Open to all at the Stade de Slalom and free of charge!
