Val Thorens Snow Report 05/04/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens

There is 360cm of snow at the top of the Val Thorens ski area with 160cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  5th April with around 5cm falling.

There are 100% of pistes open in the Val Thorens ski area with 100% ski lifts open.

April is shaping up to be one of the most superb months we’ve had so far this season. At such a high altitude here in VT, we often are obliged to compromise between glorious sunshine and excellent snow and yet, this past week we have enjoyed a rare and perfect balance of the two. There is no where else in the alps that can compete with the quality of snow we have at present and for the very best skiing, I advise you to sample the fantastic red (or the blacks for the more daring among us) off the Cime Caron. A few overcast days are predicted today and tomorrow with a chilly -8 degrees windchill to ensure the preservation of our freshly lain snow earlier in the week. In addition, the sun is set to make a cheeky appearance on Sunday just in the nick of time for the Paola Cup which will see Belgium’s finest take to the Slalom Stadium between 9am and 4pm.
