Val Thorens Snow Report 01/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens
There is 330cm of snow at the top of the Val Thorens ski area with 160cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 1st March with around 5cm falling.
There are 150km of pistes open in the Val Thorens ski area with 32 out of 32 ski lifts open.
Over five cm of fresh snow has fallen in resort and it is more than enough for us here, with 330cm still residing at the height of the piste. Passionate skiers and boarders have already taken to the off piste fresh powder however, with the piste bashers working meticulously through the night, you will find the piste well and truly carved for a fantastic weekend of skiing. Sunshine and blue skies are promised to us over the course of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and well into Monday, as temperatures reach warmer levels of -4 degrees with little wind chill. For those arriving this weekend, there is incredible skiing to be done from the top of the Peclet telecabine if you opt for either the Tete Rond blue run or the red, Christine. At 10am Sunday, the snow park welcomes all girls looking to hone their free styling technique with a session run by instructors who are at hand to offer tips and advice. It is completely free and very unique to the resort so girls, get involved and get steezy!
