Val d Isere Snow Report, 26 Mar 2010

Chalet Legettaz, Val d'IsèreThere is 160cm of snow at the top of the Pissaillas glacier and 90cm on the resort’s lower slopes.

The drop in temperature has provided more snow at the top of the mountain and is keeping the pistes in good condition.

The Tignes and le Fornet glacier are both in brilliant condition and the ski tranquille area still has plenty of powder.

The runs back into resort become quite choppy in the afternoons but the snow forecast this week should ensure the conditions of the lower runs improve.

Today the sky is cloudy and we are expecting 10 to 25 cm of fresh snow at 2000 metres. Tomorrow is forecast for more cloudy skies but even more snow so that Sunday will be perfect ski conditions with more sun and less snow.

All the excitement has been in the park this week. It hasn’t been too busy but it is brilliant condition, new kickers have been built and helicopters have been filming some of the semi-pros. DC were giving away freebies at the snowboard contest which was a very popular event on Wednesday evening.
