Val d Isere Snow Report, 24 Mar 2010
All 48 lifts in Val d’Isere are open and 94% of runs are open.
The temperatures are on the up in Val d’Isère! The lack of snow-fall over the past few weeks has not affected the piste conditions which are still excellent, and with more snow forecast at the end of the week we can expect to thoroughly enjoy the last couple of weeks of the season. Many people can be seen enjoying beers on sun drenched terraces and outdoor lunches between the pistes are now more or less obligatory. Particularly good snow can still be found on the two glaciers and yesterday morning there was plenty of fresh powder to be found up there. This is real spring skiing!
The next couple of days should see sunshine, clear skies and mild temperatures with low wind. We are expecting more snow at the end of the week.
It’s ValPark week this week, which means big air, back flips and chilling in the sunshine. The biggest event of the week is the White Battle on Wednesday night, for which a kicker at the bottom of ‘la Face’ has already been built. We are eagerly awaiting this pro freestyle competition which will be followed by a fireworks show.
