Val d Isere Snow Report, 12 Mar 2010

Val d'IsèreThere is a snow depth of 198cm at the top of the Pissaillas glacier and 123cm on the lower slopes of Espace Killy.

Blue skies again this morning so everyone is in a rush to get up the mountain. The runs are in fantastic condition with a few “mogul” runs back from Tignes. Piste Double M is very popular at the moment, mainly because everyone is heading to Val Claret for the X-Games. The run is still in good condition but the best runs to head for are those in Val d’Isere as 80% of visitors are over in Tignes enjoying the show!

Today and tomorrow we can expect a mixture of sunshine and light snow and then Sunday should be a fantastic day for the guests to arrive with bright sunshine all day! The sunshine and low winds are keeping it nice and warm in resort with just a slight chill higher up the mountain.

It’s all about the Winter X-Games this week!! Today we have the slope-style finals to look forward to which should be a fantastic event. Everyone will be gathered around to enjoy the competition and the sunshine so for those who aren’t interested, it will be a great day to ski! Also, there is a surprise band playing in Tignes tonight which everybody is talking about!
