Val d Isere Snow Report, 10 Dec 2010

Val d'IsèreVal d’Isère’s upper slopes have a depth of 51cm of snow on the upper slopes with 18cm at resort level, 5cm of which fell yesterday.

Yesterday started off with a heavy snowfall that may have appeared a little disheartening to the less enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders, however by the time the lifts were open the clouds had parted and the sun shone throughout the day!

As soon as the lifts closed the clouds came in again to prepare the pistes with a nice dump, the dream combination of weather conditions! Today the sun is out, the snow is fresh both on upper and lower slopes and it looks like an epic day ahead… the type of day that will remain with you for years to come! The world famous ‘Fasse’ is smooth riding from top to bottom so why not pretend you’re a pro for the day!!!

The sun is set to shine for the next four days before a light dusting of snow at the weekend to help maintain the pistes for your skiing and snowboarding pleasure.

As many of you already know, Val d’Isère is home to one of the worlds most famous downhill race courses ‘La Fasse’ and there is a buzz about the town as many of the worlds greatest descend on the town for the Men’s Downhill World Cup! This event will kick of the season in style with a plethora of legendary events taking place over the next five months.
