Tignes Snow Report, 24 Jan 2012

TignesSnow depth at the top of the ski area is now 220cm and in resort 150cm and the slopes are benig beautifully prepared daily.

After a light dusting of snow over the weekend there was a break in the clouds allowing all of the slopes to be beautifully prepared. There is a small amount of loose snow on piste coupled with divine firm snow that really allows skiers and snowboarders alike to get a great feel on piste. Recommend getting down the Val d’Isère show slopes early, including Face, to make sure there are the best possible conditions.

All major off piste tours are now open with both the Tarentaise pass around the entire region and Toviere to Chevril route open and in beautiful shape.

Sunny skies forecast for the next two days in resort allowing those looking for a tan not to be disappointed. Light snow on Friday and Saturday should make for a beautifully fresh resort over the weekend.

After a fun filled Thursday afternoon in the central square of Tignes Val Claret with sumo suits and a live DJ head to the Ice Rink on the frozen lake in Tignes le Lac for an Ice Disco. There is free mulled wine and hot chocolate available.
