Tignes Snow Report 12/03/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Tignes

There is 278cm of snow at the top of the Tignes ski area with 131cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 11th March with around 5cm falling.

There are 287km of pistes open in the Tignes ski area with 78 out of 81 ski lifts open.

This morning Tignes is looking bright and sunny. After some fresh snowfall yesterday the pistes are looking better then ever. It is sure to be another day of super skiing over snowy and well groomed slopes. Our favourite pistes around Val Claret such as Grattalu, Carline and Double M, continue to be the spot for fantastic skiing as we zoomed over them yesterday and down into the town of Tignes Val Claret, stopping for a moment to sunbath on the terrace of le Palet mountain café.

Val Claret itself has been taken over by preparations for the X games, the famous freestyle competition. Excitement is mounting in resort as the huge jumps and half pipe are carved out of the snow. These will be part of the competition starting next Wednesday. As always, there is plenty of exciting things going on in Tignes.
