Tignes Snow Report, 09 Apr 2010

TignesAt the top of the Grande Motte the snow base is still an impressive187cms whilst the lower Tignes runs also have a great base of 96cms.

It’s a beautiful scorching hot day today, sun is blazing across the valley and not a cloud is in sight. It’s so glorious that tee-shirt skiing is not impossible lower down, and a water jump has been set up at the bottom of the Palafour lift which is great fun to watch, and great fun to do if you like getting soaking wet!

The snow level is not suffering either as you can see, with almost two metres snow depth on the Grande Motte, which at the moment sports the most incredible views, and excellent skiing too!

More sun is scheduled! This will make everyone delighted no doubt, with of course a top up of snow to keep the on and off piste up to scratch.

Yesterday the Wilderness Camp saw many people attend, which was great fun for all! The tartiflette went down a treat and much merriment ensued. The toboggan down after was freshly groomed, and very very fast! So everyone raced down in one go and zoomed to the bottom for an adrenaline charged race!
