Tignes Snow Report, 08 Feb 2011

Tignes, FrancetiSnow depth at the top of ski area:          120cm

Snow depth in resort:                                  50cm

The recent rise in temperature has meant that skiing conditions in Tignes are closer to late Spring than mid February. However, don’t let the sun fool you as the slopes are still in great condition too. Both La Grande Motte and Pisaillas glaciers continue to offer fantastic, long runs down to Tignes and Val d’Isere respectively. Many skiers are taking advantage of the nearly empty slopes and there are no lift queues in sight; the Espace Killy region certainly is proving itself as one of the best places to ski – winter, spring or summer.

Light snow is forecast for the end of the week.

Many people are taking advantage of the warm weather and the sun terraces are filled with sunbathers, great music and even dancing on the tables in the famous La Folie Douce. The clear skies are also perfect for the many paragliders that can be seen peacefully floating down from the mountains.
