St Anton snow report 22.01.2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in St Anton

There is 180cm of snow at the top of the St Anton ski area with 65cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was last Thursday with 5cm falling.

There are 270km of pistes open with 78 of the 84 lifts open.

At the top of the mountain the light snow covering is forecast for today. Temperatures will be below zero degrees vary between -9 and -29. On Wednesday sky should be clear with at least 5 hours of sunshine. Down in resort at the moment temperature is -2 degree with the lowest of -25 that is forecast for Wednesday night. We do expect light snow coverage today as well. On Wednesday sky will be clear with a light wind.

Skiing in St Anton at the moment is pure pleasure for all of the fanatics of winter sports. Slopes are not as busy as during high peak and snow coverage is exceptional! Higher up in the mountains we can enjoy fresh powder almost most of the days throughout the week. Temperatures are below zero to keep snow in ideal condition for keen skiers and snowboarders. With a bit of sunshine day out on the slopes is an experience of the life time.

The ski school Arlberg and tourist office organizing this not to miss event to take us through history of skiing, to show us how the skiing in Arlberg area developed since Hannes Schneider first ski instruction began at the beginning of 20th century.
