St Anton Snow Report 21/02/2017
This week the snow is returning! Head out to the slopes and enjoy the best of St. Anton’s pistes, and why not try your hand at some of the fantastic marked off-piste runs available if you’re feeling like more of a challenge after the snowfall.
Or, if you don’t fancy heading out in the snow just yet, there is plenty to do in the town. This week St. Anton is playing host to a brilliant arts and crafts fair, where you can buy beautiful locally made items such as jewellery, home decorations, clothing etc. This runs Tuesday through until Friday from 11am-6pm. Alternatively, you could head to the wellness centre, which boasts 3 swimming pools (including one outdoors!), a gym, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Relax after a hard day’s skiing or simply take a break from the slopes to pamper yourselves. If you don’t fancy heading out at all, you can always experience the pampering in your own room, as we work with a fantastic massage company, Alpine Sports Physio, that come directly to you!
While the blue skies and sunshine of last week made the days extremely enjoyable, it has taken its toll on the pistes slightly, so the snow that is forecast this week will be very well received. We are forecast just under 20cm of snow on Tuesday, and more from Thursday night through Friday, with some splashes of sunshine in between. The pistes will hugely benefit from this snow and it will make skiing conditions much better. While temperatures will remain with highs of up to 7 and lows of around 0 degrees, there may be a significant wind chill, especially on Friday, so do remember to wrap up warm! After Friday, the sun is set to return, and the forecast through until next week is of sunshine accompanied by a few clouds, ideal for enjoying the snow that will have fallen.
