St Anton Snow Report, 09 Mar 2010

Chalet in St AntonThere is superb snow depth at the top of Valluga of 240cm and on the lower slopes of St Anton there is a depth of 70 cm.

A decent snowfall last week has improved the already fantastic skiing conditions here in St Anton and the pistes are in great condition due to the large snowfalls.

The sunshine may disappear for a while on Thursday so make sure to make the most of Tuesday and Wednesday.

If the weather is sunny in the morning try skiing up the Rendl Gondola as this side of the mountain receives a lot of the morning sunshine. Then make your way down to town and stop off for some lunch at one of the many fantastic restaurants St Anton has to offer.

In the afternoon consider Skiing down to Stuben. It is often less busy than St. Anton leaving fresher snow and quieter pistes. The off piste down in Stuben is also very good.

The start of the week will be nice and bright sunshine making perfect skiing conditions. There may be a few snow showers on Wednesday and a high possibility of heavy snow on Thursday. However, it appears to brighten up again on Friday with some sunny spells making good conditions for skiing once again.

The pistes continue to be relatively peaceful but the après bars are as lively as ever with the infamous Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaruh competing for attention.

The resort’s own Ski Show is being held once again this week on Wednesday. This is a really fun event and is always a great crowd pleaser. The show starts at 9pm.
