St Anton snow report 08.01.2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in St Anton.

The snow at the top of the St Anton ski area is 179cm with 65cm in resort. The last snowfall saw 3cm come down at the top of the mountain.

65% of the runs are open with 37 lifts in operation.

The weather conditions are mostly dry with beautiful sunny days providing panoramic views from the top of the mountain. On Friday we are due a light dusting of snow with 6cm falling over night. Temperatures are having highs of 0 degrees and lows of -13, ensuring the snow stays soft for skiing and boarding.

At the top of the mountain the ski conditions are excellent with soft snow waiting to be skied on. St Christoph has got excellent snow on all runs providing lovely skiing down blue 5 and 8.

This weekend we have the FIS Ladies Alpine Ski World Cup. The most elite international female skiers meet in St Anton to battle for the points in the World Cups fastest discipline on the famous Kandahar Course. On Saturday, 12th January only hundredths of a second will divide the winner from the loser in the Super G, before the athletes are required to “go that extra mile” in Sundays downhill.
