St Anton Snow Report, 05 March 2010

St Anton Cable CarThere is a snow depth of 220 cm at the top of Valluga and 60 cm on the local St Anton slopes with 10cm falling yesterday.

A decent snowfall last week has improved the already fantastic skiing conditions here in St Anton. There has been consistent snowfall throughout the week so this has really freshened up the pistes.

Great skiing in the morning is found on the Rendl side as it gets the early morning sun. Then make your way down to town and stop off for some lunch at one of the many fantastic restaurants St Anton has to offer.

In the afternoon consider the Schindlergratbahn.  Once at the top there is a great piste running all the way down into Stuben. This is a firm favourite as it consists of great piste and fun off piste.

Snow showers and sunny intervals are predicted for today which should make the snow conditions excellent for skiing. Come Saturday the visibility may be low as there is heavy snow due however the conditions will brighten up by the end of the weekend with sunny spells.

The pistes continue to be relatively peaceful but the après bars are as lively as ever with the infamous Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaruh competing for attention.

There is also plenty of après ski activities available for the slightly younger generation. The stunning outdoor swimming pool, rock climbing wall. The weekly ski show on Wednesday evening is a spectacle not to be missed.
