Solden Snow Report 26/03/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Solden

There is 267cm of snow at the top of the Solden ski area with 10cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  March 26th with around 11cmcm falling.

There are 1 of pistes open in the Solden ski area with 30 out of 38 ski lifts open.

The snow is forecasted to continue all day today, bringing around 9cm in total at
mid-station. It will ease off by tomorrow morning, with the sun breaking
through the clouds. However, the clouds are to set back in and bring more snow
showers on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Thursday is a similar picture with
it bright in the morning and snowy in the afternoon. Temperatures are staying
quite low, staying below freezing, around minus 5 – 7 at mid-station and twice
as low up at the glacier. The wind will be generally light.

With lots of fresh snow overnight, the snow on the slopes will be of excellent quality – the icy patches will be covered up with some nice fresh powder and it’s starting to look a little more wintery down in town! The snow, unfortunately, comes with low cloud, so visibility isn’t ideal – so remember your low-light goggles! The runs down to the resort will be in better condition too with the fresh snow, as they get rather slushy in the afternoon.
