Solden snow report 14.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Solden
The last snowfall was 2 days ago and we had another 10cm to add to the 151cm at the top of the glacier. In the resort we have around 35cm of snow. The clouds will close in this afternoon and bring some light snow. This will continue for the next few days with heaviest snow on Saturday afternoon – predicted to bring around 10cm! Sunday will be brighter with some sunny spells. Temperatures are staying well below freezing, but are milder than earlier this week – peaking at -9 degrees Celsius at the top of the ski area on Saturday afternoon. The wind is strongest today and then will ease off over the weekend.
There are 81% of the pistes open and 20 out of the 33 lifts open.
Glorious sunshine is taking the edge off the icy wind that’s blustering round the mountain today. The snow is in fabulous condition on piste and although there hasn’t been fresh snow for a couple of days, you don’t have to venture far to find some untouched powder!! The slopes are practically empty so don’t be unnerved to find yourself alone among the trees in the blissful peacefulness of the mountain. A fabulous day for cruising and catching some rays on a sheltered sun terrace.
