Saas Fee SnowReport 20 Mar 2012

Saas Fee, Switzerland30cm of snow fell yesterday contributing to one of the largest dumps this season.  Upper slopes have 380cm and lower runs to resort 80cm.

Following one of the season’s largest snowfalls on Sunday and continuing into Monday, and with brilliant blue skies forecast for the rest of the week, the skiing conditions are superb.

The conditions on piste are fast, with the Swiss grooming system providing that bit of grip on the surface ideal for carving the perfect ‘S’.

Off piste is also superb this week thanks to the large snow fall over the weekend. At the top there is over a metre of fresh powder and plenty of space across the resort to mark out your own fresh tracks!
With sunny spells interrupted sporadically by light cloud coverings and with the temperature hovering just below freezing even up at 3000m, the skiing conditions will continue to be very pleasant as we enter the weekend.

We have the snow-shoe Olympics here in Saas Fee this Tuesday. We also have husky-sledding rides available all week and night skiing in Saas Almagell and night sledging in Saas Fee on Tuesday.
