Les Gets has a justified reputation as one of the most charming and atmospheric ski villages in the whole of France. And equally importantly you will not need an expense account for the relaxed, varied and good value après ski and nightlife on a skiing holiday in Les Gets!

For those with energy to burn, dog-sledding, hot-air ballooning, para-gliding and ice-skating are all available in and around the village.

Explore an interesting variety of bistros and restaurants on your ski chalet hosts' night off, perhaps enjoying traditional specialities at the atmospheric Le Vieux Chene or great pizzas at La Flambeau. A well-varied choice of lively, popular bars includes the obligatory Irish Pub, and you can dance the night away at the Igloo or Zebra discos.

Ski Range 1,172m – 2,466m

Renowned as the world’s biggest international ski area, the wonderful Portes du Soleil is an ideal area for skiers of all levels to take their ski holiday. With an inviting 650kms of pistes to choose from, ranging from picturesque tree-clad slopes to enormous, sunny, open high altitude snow-bowls, there really is something for everyone here.

Around Les Gets itself, the friendly skiing terrain is perfect for beginners and intermediates to enjoy. Opposite Les Gets’ main Chavannes ski slopes is the smaller Mont Chéry area, with satisfyingly long runs, some excellent bumps and a snow park with lots of kickers, rails and boxes. Higher up, on thanks to the 49 lifts linked with Morzine on the local ski lift pass, there is also a good range of skiing for the more experienced skier or snow boarder. A permanent boarder cross has been developed on the Chavannes slopes for any aspiring Olympians to test their skills!

Looking across the system as a whole, there is a formidable range of skiing available on in the huge Portes du Soleil area, with one well-priced pass covering all 14 ski resorts. Avoriaz is easily reached either via the Super-Morzine gondola, or you may prefer the short ski-bus ride to the lifts at Les Prodains, taking you straight to the centre of Avoriaz.

With an early start you can have a superb day out taking a glorious circular tour via Avoriaz, Switzerland and Châtel, before returning home. To complete the perfect ski day on your Les Gets skiing holidays, there is also a good variety of reasonably priced mountain restaurants and huts, for a leisurely vin chaud or lunch break.
