At the heart of the 3 Valleys ski area is the pretty resort of La Tania. This youngest resort in the ski area is perfectly positioned half way between Courchevel and Méribel amongst a forest of luscious green spruce trees. It was originally built for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics and now has developed in to a full ski resort whilst still retaining its village charm and atmosphere, but with quick access to some of the most famous pistes in the world.

Traffic is kept away from the village centre which is pedestrianised and the arrival point for well groomed ski runs giving the luxury of doorstep skiing to most accommodation. The numerous snow cannons ensure that the runs to resort are kept in a good condition for the whole season and our Ski Total chalets are just right next to the slopes. There is no nicer feeling than skiing back to your chalet at the end of a good day and being able to ski down from the chalet to the gondola in the morning.

The original hamlet was called La Tagna (meaning bear’s dwelling) and the modern resort has been renamed La Tania. It is well planned and built with natural materials and lots of wood so the apartments and chalets are perfectly placed, nestling within a Christmas Tree forest. There is a good selection of restaurants and shops as well and although the resort may not have the frantic après-ski of some neighbouring resorts, live music and good bars can still be found.

Whilst après-ski venues in La Tania are not numerous and is best described as informal but reasonably priced. There are bars and cafés offering the obligatory vin chaud at the end of skiing day and live music can often be found as well.

The ski links here are tremendous and you are just 2 lifts away from either Courchevel or Meribel, the choice is yours. Take the La Tania gondola and then either the Bouc Blanc or Dou de Lanches chairs to the skiing in your choice of valley. There is a free drag lift and small piste for absolute beginners in the resort and for intermediate and advanced skiers the area opens up to a mecca of skiing. Even Val Thorens is only 6 ski lifts away.
There are 3 runs back in to the resort, suitable for all levels of skier or boarder. A wide red run with a consistent gradient is the most direct route whilst a roller-coaster blue goes straight through the forest and a gentler green run winds down from the top station of the gondola to the resort. This sums up La Tania in that it offers something for everybody and is a great choice for all winter sports enthusiasts.
