Ski Range 1,500m – 2,466m
Good ski chalets are a real rarity in Avoriaz, so we are delighted to bring you what we believe to be the best of them all – four neighbouring ski chalets, on the piste edge, close to the resort centre and ski-lifts, with skiing quite literally to and from the doorstep.

Avoriaz, with its “space-age” architecture, is the highest resort on the massive Portes du Soleil, and also has without doubt some of its best skiing. Enjoy its high altitude ski slopes with wide open pistes, superb snow record, spectacular views, and '360º skiing', with lifts and pistes fanning out in all directions from the attractively compact traffic-free centre.

Avoriaz Ski school

A great place for tuition of all levels, so call our Advisory team to talk through your requirements, from outright beginners to advanced skiers wanting a mountain guide to explore the off-piste adventures on offer.

For children there is an equally good range of ski and snowboard lessons available, plus the non-skiing 'Village des Enfants' in the resort centre for children from three years, which has an excellent reputation.

Ski Range 1,500m – 2,466m
Skiers and snowboarders staying in our ski chalets in Avoriaz are thoroughly spoiled! – it is hard to think of anywhere more utterly convenient for a ski holiday, with skiing to and from the doorstep, and two charming restaurants all within a decent snowball’s throw.

The surrounding slopes tick all the boxes. This is a great place for beginners to start their ski careers with that ‘top-of-the-world’ feeling, but it is intermediates and advanced skiers who will revel in life here at the very heart of the Portes du Soleil. With 650km of sensational pistes to explore around 14 different French and Swiss villages, you will never tire of this enormous area, whenever you take your Avoriaz skiing holidays.

Plentiful blue runs allow for miles of stylish cruising, while the reds and blacks up the stakes in stages for those in search of a challenge, culminating in the infamous Swiss Wall. But don’t worry, you don’t have to ski the Wall – you can take the chairlift instead. Touring from village to village is a highlight for many skiers, criss-crossing between France and Switzerland – especially if you are fond of traditional mountain bars and restaurants, of which there are plenty on both sides of the border. Free-style skiers and boarders meanwhile will know Avoriaz as the pioneer, and still front-runner, in exciting snow-parks, with four to choose from, including the most recent, ‘The Stash’.

There is great off-piste skiing up here too, including the four ‘snowcross’ runs recently added, which are marked and patrolled, but left unpisted as nature intended, including the Crozats run, for over 3km of virgin snow.

Skiing down to Les Prodains gives you access via a short ski-bus connection to the whole Morzine and Les Gets area too.
