Obergurgl snow report 28.12.2012

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Obergurgl

There is 216cm of snow at the top of the ski area and 99cm in resort. Obergurgl saw 10cm of snow fall yesterday.

Clear sunny skies are due on Saturday and Monday with a light dusting currently forecast for Sunday. Temperatures are set to cool again so an extra layer is definitely worth it; lows of about -20 but with relatively low winds we don’t think it’s going to be too cold!

88% of the runs are open and all of the 21 lifts are open.

It feels like we are getting powder days all the time at the moment! A good dump a couple f times a week – brilliant! The slopes still are in excellent condition and the recent warmer temperatures have served only to make lovely skiing conditions: sunbathing on Christmas day anyone? Obergurgl still remains a little quieter then Hochgurgl. Soelden is still a definite must do, and such great value on the upgrade on the lift pass. The glacier has some amazing skiing and not many resorts give you the chance to ski a second, with just a 15 minute bus journey. Amazing!

Father Christmas was in resort, led by Rudolph! And I think all children had been super good this year as n one left with a lump of coal..

The champagne is also already in the chillers awaiting our New Year’s Eve menu on Monday night.
