Obergurgl Snow Report 22/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Obergurgl
There is 201cm of snow at the top of the Obergurgl ski area with 78cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 18th March with around 20cm falling.
There are 91% of pistes open in the Obergurgl ski area with 95% ski lifts open.
Light snow over the next few days; with a light wind and wither temperatures hovering just into the positive numbers it should be a relatively pleasant week.
The promised snow finally arrived and boy did it fall! around 20cm of the beautiful white stuff fell on Monday and we’ve had some fabulous skiing since. Temperatures have remained cool so it looks set to stay great for the foreseeable future. Over towards red 20 and the blue 20s in the Kirchenkar region the pistes are beautifully quiet. It’s also one of the last areas to get bashed over in Hochgurgl so early birds might get in a bit of on-piste powder after the snow we’re forecast for into next week!
After the snow on Monday the night skiing in Obergurgl on Tuesday was fabulous. Teamed with a clear sky the finale was wonderful! Solden still has its weekly concert up on the mountain from 13:00 on the Giggijoch – definitely a must – how many people can say they have been to a concert at 2500m?!
