Obergurgl snow report 14.12.2012

The latest snow report from our team in Obergurgl

Obergurgl has got some really good snow at the moment with 185cm at the top of the Wurmkogel and 78cm in resort. The last snowfall was a light dusting of 5cm on Tuesday.

79% of the lifts are open with 19 of the 21 runs open as well so there’s plenty to ski at the moment.

21cm of snow are due between now and Sunday – with a let up on Monday – ideal for everyone arriving on Sunday evening! Variable winds, northerly and easterly in the main and temperatures are cooling down in the evening but are not too bad during the day – nothing a hot chocolte at the Nederhuette won’t solve!

Our ski hosting went to Soelden yesterday (area lift pass required!) and they had a fabulous day. The sun was shining and the weather was sweet. A touch cold at the top (but then you are up at 3768m!) but low wind coupled with amazing snow and hte sunshine made for some fantastic skiing conditions.

Up in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl meanwhile the cold, snowy winds from earlier in the week seem to have subsided and the sun also made an appearance for us here. The snow remains fantastic, the Hochgurgl blues are still appealing to the novices and experts alike!

Sadly the ski show had to be cancelled due to high winds and snow, but that only meant we had some fabulous snow afterards! Really looking forward to it again this week. For anyone not so keen, or who fancies something different, we’re looking to have a trip down to the Christmas Market in Innsbruck – an ideal chance to get those last minute presents for your loved ones!

For those quizzers amongst you, your chalet will be holding a chalet quiz for you all – bring your thinking caps!
