Obergurgl Snow Report 01/03/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Obergurgl

There is 225cm of snow at the top of the Obergurgl ski area with 110cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  24th Feb with around 10cm falling.

There are 91% of pistes open in the Obergurgl ski area with 21 out of 21 ski lifts open.

Sun, sun and sun! The next few days are set to be absolutely glorious. Definitely bring your sun tan lotion! Sunny, blue skies, with temperatures staying below freezing to ensure the snow stays in tip top condition. Very light winds.

A huge amount of powder still to be explored over here. With some slightly warmer weather you really have to be a bit of an early bird to enjoy the best snow but our pistes are still in excellent condition. Solden too, with its glacier, provides some fantastic skiing. With the good weather a trip to the Schoenwies Hut is a must on anybody’s list. Pulled along by a skidoo this lovely little hut has some excellent views. It’s accessible for non skiers too.

Thursday evening brings us an evening of Alpine singing and a music evening with bands form the entire Oetz valley. Something different from your ski holiday perhaps? Wednesday night’s fondue evening in the Hohe Mut Alm has been proving very popular along with the David’s Hut. It’s not every day you can eat up in a mountain hut after dark!
