Meribel Snow Report, 26 Mar 2010

Méribel, FranceThe snow base is 126cm on the upper slopes in Meribel and the local slopes have

68 cm of snow.

The week continues to be quiet with the snow proving to be soft and patchy after the spell of hot weather we have recently had. However this morning the clouds have formed and snow is predicted so with the cooler night the snow this morning is set to be firmer than the rest of the week with fresh snow falling above 1200-1400m.

This afternoon it is expected to snow heavily with 25cms predicted. The clouds however will clear this evening and stay away until tomorrow afternoon when  they will re-form bringing more snow with it. It looks like the traditional pre-Easter snow is on its way and just in time for Meribel!

The Altitude Festival continues with performances from KT Tunstall, who did a duet with comedian Marcus Bridgestocke, and live appearances from Al Murray, Andrew Maxwell and others.

It has been a fantastic week with every chairlift ride an excitement to see who you may end up sitting next to.
