Meribel snow report 25.12.2012
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Meribel
The snow depth at the top of the ski area at Meribel is 170cm and in resort there is 100cm on the home runs. It last snowed on 20/12/12 with 10cm.
Today will be overcast all day with the prospect of light snow falling in the afternoon which will turn into heavier snow later in the day. This snow will continue to fall overnight leading into Boxing Day. In the afternoon it looks as though the sun will poke its way through the clouds, but only momentarily as snowfall will recommence in the evening. This snow will continue to fall and get heavier through Wednesday night and through the whole of Thursday. We all look forward to the amount of skiable fresh powder this snowfall will bring!
There are 65 runs open and all 42 lifts are open.
Over the last two days we have had glorious sunshine in Meribel, meaning that yesterday mornings skiing was absolutely exquisite. The snow is fantastically fresh in the morning and higher up the mountain and the snow down the bottom of the slopes is still holding strong. Skiers of all types and abilities should be loving the ski conditions in Meribel at the moment, still a surplus of powder off the slopes whilst the pisteurs have perfectly bashed the slopes into fresh cords in the morning.
Merry Christmas from Meribel! The resort was bustling last night with the ESF torch lit decent emerging from Motteray and continuing down the mountain into Meribel. It was truly a sight to behold as what could only be 100 or more skiers holding lanterns graced the slopes. The pubs and bars were alive last night with the excitement and prospect of counting down the minutes to Christmas, and I believe there was a lot of Vin Chaud consumed by all!
All of the hosts are looking forward to their Christmas meal which has been booked up, and we hope they will have the best Christmas they’ve had yet with us.
