Les Gets Snow Report, 30 Mar 2010

Snow over Les GetsAt the highest point of Les Gets (2002m) there is currently 160cm of snow and  there is 60cm at 1172m.

Over the weekend Les Gets had a good top up of fresh snow;  on Saturday there was a total of 3cm and on Sunday a further 4cm fell.  This has meant that the ski conditions have been greatly improved and many could enjoy fresh powder over the weekend.

Yesterday the snow was in great condition in the morning due to temperatures staying relatively low.  A particularly enjoyable run was the Rein de Pres off the top of La Rosta chair.  The long easy blue is perfect at the start of the day to get your ski legs in!

Throughout the afternoon the sun came out and temperatures rose meaning the conditions were perfect for children to ski.

There is a total of 22cm of snow due to fall over the next two days meaning the ski area will get a fabulous top up of fresh powder.

There is plenty of snow due this week with 8cm due throughout the day today and 14cm due on Wednesday with the majority falling in the evening. Thursday will bring light snow in the morning and sunshine and cloud in the afternoon, with temperatures dropping to -15 that night all the fresh snow will be kept in great condition.

This past week Les Gets has turned in to a film set!  Actors and a film crew making a TV show have taken over the streets of Les Gets to film various shots for their programme soon to be seen on French TV!
