Les Gets Snow Report 15/02/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets

At the top of the Les Gets ski area there is 260cm of snow and in resort there is 130cm of snow. We’re still getting plenty of snow here in Les Gets, and after a few clearer days it is snowing again.

66 out of the 69 runs in resort are open at the moment, so there’s still access to some great skiing in what should be good conditions. Again there are 50 out of the 51 lifts in resort open today, and it is still only the Mouille aux Chats down in the Les Gets bowl is closed.

We’ve got some light snow showers expected today, but then for the rest of the week it’s expected to be clear and quite sunny, so a good few days to end the week. Temperatures will be at their lowest tonight, hitting -7 degrees, and the highest temperatures will be early next week at around -2/-1 degrees. Windchill will be coldest tonight at -10 degrees but will stay around -7 degrees for the rest of the week.

All the snow we’ve been getting recently means that conditions have been excellent up on the mountains all week, and continue to be. Mont Chery is awesome in the powder, although the relentless snow means that the views of Mont Blanc will be obscured at the moment. Some of the red runs across resort will have been left unpisted, so there will be a few moguls about, which are always good fun. Visibility should be good today, as despite the snow, the clouds aren’t too bad on the mountains.

Starting tomorrow, until March 16th, Les Gets has a running theme of ‘The 4 Elements’ with numerous events and activities going on around resort, including performances and workshops.
