Les Gets Snow Report 09/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Gets
There is 190cm of snow at the top of the Les Gets ski area with 60cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 9th April with around 15cm falling.
There are 72% of pistes open in the Les Gets ski area with 80% ski lifts open.
It’s going to warm up considerably in the next few days, with temperatures rising from -1 degrees to 8/9 degrees by wednesday. It’ll definiately feel like spring by mid week. We will have more snow today and tomorrow though with some light showers throughout both days. The warm weather may turn that snow to rain by thursday though.
Ski conditions are fantastic for this time of year here in Les gets. All the recent snowfall means there’s still plenty of fresh powder, especially after the 15cm we got last night, and with 8cm more expected today there’s no chance of conditions deteriorating just yet. Although the snowfall means visibility may not be so good everywhere, it’s the perfect chance to try some of our tree lined runs out such as Bluet or Choucas. The Les gets bowl will be excellent today, as many of the runs down there are great fun when skied in resh powder. Watch out for the moguls on some of the red runs this afternoon, as they’ll present an excellent opportunity to perfect your technique.
We’ve got the usual treasure hunts up on the Grand Cry this Friday. As well as the local market on Thursday morning. This week will also see lots of end of season closing parties such as Apres ski bar during the day on Saturday and Irish on Saturday night.
