Les Gets Snow Report, 09 Apr 2010

Group skiing off pisteAt the highest point of Les Gets (2002m) there is currently 135cm of snow.

The amount of snow at 1172m is 45cm.

Skiers this week have been enjoying blue skies and bright sunshine and lovely warm temperatures.  The slopes have been kept in surprisingly good condition; despite the fact that Les Gets is a low resort the skiing at this time of the year is still very enjoyable.

Next week’s forecast is more sunshine and some light snow, perfect to top up a few of the lower runs that are looking a little sketchy.

The best skiing can be had first thing in the morning when the slopes have been groomed, by 11 the temperatures are warming up, which is great to ski in but means that by 2ish the slopes are getting a little soft.  Meaning the perfect opportunity to have a long hard ski in the morning and a leisurely lunch later in the day!

Today and tomorrow is forecast to be bright sunshine, with temperatures reaching 8C.  The sunshine continues until Sunday morning where it will then be replaced with light snow in the afternoon.  This pattern is repeated on Monday and Tuesday, with a total of 3cm of snow over the next few days.
