Les Arcs Snow Report, 26 Mar 2010

Les Arcs, Piste RestaurantThere is a snow depth of 180cm at 3300m at the Aiguille Rouge and 100cm at 2000m.

Despite warm temperatures in the beginning of the week, the huge depth of snow in Les Arcs meant that the runs remained open throughout and now temperatures are dropping and snow coming down it seems things will be back to their best after the weekend.

Access to the peak, Aiguille Rouge, is a definite advantage as conditions remained excellent at the top all week as well as offering great views on the clear days.

The forecast is that temperatures will drop, followed by a lot of snow before the sun returns on Sunday or Monday. Ultimately next week is likely to be a good time to be in Les Arcs.

Les Arcs has just opened the water-strip by the Altiport, a thin stretch of water where skiers and boarders attempt to lean back a glide across to safely make it to the other side.  For those watching from the restaurant and those attempting it for themselves this is a very entertaining attraction and sign that Spring is here, bringing a more relaxed atmosphere to mountain.
