Les Arcs Snow Report 19/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Les Arcs
There is 262cm of snow at the top of the Les Arcs ski area with 130cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 18th March with around 40cm falling.
There are 94 out of 107 of pistes open in the Les Arcs ski area with 48 out of 51 ski lifts open.
Les Arcs is in the midst of perhaps one of the biggest snowfalls of the season. With getting close to half a metre falling since Sunday evening, there is deep, soft, dry powder all across the resort. Conditions couldn’t be better at the moment and the sun is set to make a return for the rest of the week meaning there is likely to be a fair few bluebird powder days to be enjoyed.
Temperatures are meant to remain low which will ensure the quality of the snow base but without being too cold to get out and enjoy the powder. The outlook going into next week looks like there may be more snow on the horizon, which will surely guarantee the quality of the snow well into April and the closing weeks of the season.
As nostalgia starts to kick in and minds wander back across the season so far, many will be thinking how good this season has been so far. Spring powder days look set to continue for a while, so those barbecue sets may need to be put away for a little while longer but grab those powder skis and come get snowy!
