Lech Snow Reports, 09 March 2010

LechAt the Steinmahd, at 2300m, there is a snow base of 170cm and on the local Lech slopes the base is just short of a metre, at 95 cm.

The new snow that fell over the weekend coupled with the low temperatures now being experienced has left the pistes in an absolutely fantastic condition.  It has also refreshed the unpisted diamond ski trails that can be found throughout the region to offer a challenge to the more adventurous skier.

A fantastic variety of terrain is available on the 255km of pisted slopes. The runs above Zurs continue to offer some of the best snow conditions in the area.

Today has started bright with beautiful clear skies and a very cold temperatures.  Some cloud is forecast to move in later in the day with possible light snow showers.  Winds are expected to increase to moderate from the east.  Tomorrow (Wednesday) is expected to be overcast with some light snow in the afternoon becoming heavier into the evening.  The snow is expected to continue into Thursday.  Temperatures will remain low.

The Arlburg hotel offers live music with its “Bar Rock and Roll” this Wednesday.

And fro novelty value – try riding the two wheel stand up sensation machine, the Segway, on a tour through Lech with an instructor / guide any evening throughout the week.
