Ischgl snow report 08.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Ischgl
There is 150cm of snow at the top of the Ischgl ski area with 70cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on the 28th December when 20cm fell.
216km of runs are open for you to cruise on and 42 of the 43 lifts are open top help you get to them.
Up to and including Wednesday, the conditions will remain mild, the frost line will be located around a level of 2500 meters. The air masses, which are too mild for the season, will temporarily bring harmless patches of clouds and weaken the sunny conditions. From Thursday on, the influence of low-pressure will increase, wintry air masses will settle in. Snow showers are expected from time to time. Somewhat heavier snow showers seem possible from time to time.
The temperatures have slightly risen this week with the sun creeping through the blanket of clouds making the ski conditions and atmosphere really enjoyable. There is plenty of powder on the slopes and the pistes are in great condition. Snow showers are predicted over the next 2 days so make sure you wrap up warm and take your goggles up the mountain. Again our favourite runs are the ‘40’s’ which all have the best snow conditions this time of year and is near to our famous duty free run. Both the home runs are fully functional essential when you want to go to the après ski.
Yesterday Ischgl’s famous ‘Shapes In White’ began so do not miss out on the magnificent ice sculptures over the mountain.
