Day trip to Solden!
After a few days of snow, on the first sunny morning we wanted to get up to Rettenbach and Tiefenbach Glaciers as early as possible. Catching the 7.50am bus from Obergurgl meant that we were skiing by 8.30am, and on the gondola over to the Tiefenbach side by 9am. With only a handful of people on the slopes around us and spring sunshine warming up the slopes, it was a beautiful morning especially from the Tiefenbach gondola footbridge 3249m looking towards the Wildspitze – Tirol’s highest mountain peak.
On the piste, there was still a good 10cm of powder, and then plenty of untouched off-piste areas alongside the runs so perfect conditions for everyone. After lunch, we went to the Giggijoch side for the Fun Slope with small jumps and tunnels, then time trialed at the BMW slalom track, and finally back down to Solden by taking some winding routes through the trees.
