Christmas & New Year Ski Holidays

Christmas & New Year Ski Holidays

Join us in the mountains this Christmas or New Year and enjoy a real winter wonderland holiday

What could be more perfect than a day skiing on the slopes, then returning to a comfortable Alpine chalet or Chalet Hotel with afternoon tea waiting for you, followed by a delicious dinner, a well-earned glass of wine and a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Christmas and New Year are a special time in the Alps. All the resorts have lights and decorations creating a true Christmassy atmosphere and most have fireworks on New Year’s Eve. (The featured image above is of the famous New Years Eve party held in Tignes Le Lac)

To add to this, in Austria and France you will be travelling on a Tuesday, which has many benefits! Find out more here.

Christmas Ski Holidays

Austria & France: 19th to 26th December
Italy: 23rd to 30th December

Our Chalet Hotels and chalets offer a very special festive ambience over Christmas, with a decorated Christmas tree, and plenty of festive extras. On Christmas Day our staff will kick off the celebrations with a Champagne apéritif for all adult guests, before serving a full traditional Christmas dinner to guests of all ages eating together, including roast turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas pudding and mince pies.

We’ll make you feel right at home with crackers, party hats and maybe even carols around the fire!

Nothing quite beats skiing on Christmas Day, surrounded by stunning Alpine scenery, in the knowledge that someone else is doing all the cooking and the washing up!

New Year Ski Holidays

Austria & France: 26th to 2nd January
Italy: 30th to 6th January

A special celebration menu will also be served on New Year’s Eve, preceded by Champagne, and it’s an added bonus that many resorts put on fantastic firework displays at midnight!

Watching fireworks over the snow-capped peaks of the Alps – what better way to bring in the New Year!
With Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve falling on a Sunday, we have changed our usual departures to Austria and France from Sunday to Tuesday in December.

This means that the Christmas stay is from 19th to 26th December and New Year from 26th December to 2nd January so you can enjoy the build-up to the main celebration days on the slopes.

We then have a special 5 night holiday from 2nd to 7th January. Departures to our Italian resorts stay as usual on a Saturday.

Why travelling on a Tuesday is Great

  • Enjoy the magic of Christmas or New Year with a proper build up to the big day – having these towards the end of your holiday after you have had plenty of time in the mountains to get excited and get into the festive spirit!

  • Arriving on Tuesday means avoiding the busy weekend transfer traffic– getting you to the mountains quicker!

  • Travelling on a Tuesday will give you the opportunity to avoid those crowded ski hire shops on the first night/day and will also give you the pick of the equipment as other people arrive during the busy weekend transfers.

  • Skiing on both the Christmas and New Year weekends will be fantastic, avoiding the crowds who are travelling up to resort that weekend – you’ll be on empty slopes with lifts all to yourselves! No queues, quiet pistes; what better way to celebrate Christmas or bring in the New Year!

  • Arriving on Tuesday will also give you the opportunity to enjoy various resorts’ street parades, carol concerts and a possible theatrical visit from Father Christmas

  • Travel back and be home on the 2nd of January 2018, giving you plenty of time to get ready to start school or work! Or perhaps to get back in time for the January sales!
