SkierThere is an incredible 178cm of snow at 3233m, the highest point for Chamonix skiers, and in resort there is10cm.

The skiing conditions are still very good, with excellent coverage and soft snow on most pistes. Index, in Flegere, in particular was beautiful yesterday, with a well groomed piste and regular and even snow.

The forecast is for the cold weather to keep the snow conditions excellent, with a small amount of top up snow due over the next couple of days to freshen things up. The wind speeds are also due to drop, meaning that it will certainly be feeling warmer when you are out on the pistes.

Everyone here is very excited by tonight’s grudge ice hockey match between the local Chamonix team and fierce rivals St Gervais, with a large crowd expected to be cheering on the home team. Elsewhere, the Christmas market is being prepared, due in town on Christmas eve, with hundreds of gifts for those shoppers who have left it to the last minute to find that perfect present.
