Avoriaz snow report 22.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Avoriaz
There is a massive 270cm worth of snow at the top of the Avoriaz ski area and there is 230 cm currently in the resort. Last night (21st Jan 2013) 10cm of snow fell in resort.
33 of the lifts are in operation with 49 of the 50 pistes open with only 1 black closed.
Weather is expected to be mostly dry for the next 3 days with some light snow falling on a Thursday afternoon. However, temperatures will remain below freezing so don’t be fooled by the sun, wrap up!
After the unexpected snow fall of yesterday the snow conditions are rejuvenated and thoroughly enjoyable. Fresh powder covers all slopes, especially up high at the top of the Interets and Fornet chair lifts of Avoriaz. As usual when visibility is more difficult it’s suggested to head down to the Linderet valley amongst the trees and enjoy the fast paced blues and red which wind around the valley.
The town is buzzing with activity this week. A torchlit decent will be approaching the town from 6pm this evening with mulled wine being offered by the local supermarkets at 6pm. Tomorrow Aquariaz will be opening late again with music, cocktails and impressive light affects. In addition the ice rink on the main street is hosting a disco party from 5.30pm.
