Avoriaz Snow Report 19/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Avoriaz
There is 310cm of snow at the top of the Avoriaz ski area with 270cm of snow in resort to contend with. On the 15/02/2013 we had a snowfall of approximately 10cm.
All of the ski area is open here in Avoriaz with all 33 ski lifts also open
Over the next three days only one thing is expected SUN, SUN and more SUN! Wind will remain generally light although temperatures will not venture above freezing.
Ski conditions are glorious at the moment. The Portes du Soleil is really living up to its name with days full of bright sunshine and clear blue skies. Pistes are well bashed and most remain mogul free allowing for fast enjoyable runs. The area high up at Fornet is amazing, with all blue, red and black runs remaining thoroughly great to ski. The super Morzine area of Avoriaz tends to be very busy towards the start and end of the day, with the prolays lift becoming quite the bottleneck so it’s suggested to avoid this area at those times and stay high or play around in the trees of the Linderet valley!
This week Avoriaz is buzzing with the arrival of its snow carnival! There’s a sledge race, carnival party on the ice rink, a torch lit decent for children and instructors, a ski test for families all culminating in a carnival procession through the town ending in an impressive fireworks display, sure to light up the whole town!
