Arabba Snow Report 23 Mar 2012

Arabba, ItalySnow depth at the top of the ski area is 278cm of solidly packed snow and brilliant spring skiing is to be had in Arabba and the surrounding area.

A light snowfall at the beginning of the week cooled the area a little before, once again the sunshine came out and the temperatures risen to 15oc+.

Best skiing is to be had in the morning in the Super Ski area. Passa Pordoi and the Belvedere Bowl also continues to have great snow.

Some skiers have experienced trouble with pistes in the trees that receive sunlight in section, with fast skiing in some areas and abrupt slow sections where the sun has been hard at work.

Only a few pistes have been closed due to conditions, which means there is still great skiing to be had.   

The warm weather conditions set to continue with freeze thaw conditions during the day and night. Highs of 6 degrees expected at mid range altitude and warmer in resort. A small amount of snow is expected on Saturday (1cm) with rain to follow after. Cloudless skies are expected through out next week. Lows of -3 and wind temperatures between 5 and 10kmph

Wine tasting, snow shoeing and Nordic skiing and becoming more popular as the snow conditions decline. The resort is now in wind-down mode for the summer season.
