10 Years of Paradiski – a Piste System That We Love

Continuing our blog; 10 Years of Paradiski (click here to revisit the first blog if you missed it), this week we are focusing on the piste system, one of the 10 reasons why you should visit this amazing area…

The size of the Paradiski area is what stands out. With 425km of pistes spread between altitudes of 1200m to 3250m and a real variation of slopes, it’s one of Europe’s largest and most diverse skiing domains! The guaranteed snow from the two glaciers, Bellecôte (3417m) and Aiguille Rouge (3226m) make it a top choice for skiing and snowboarding even in the summer months.

If you’re a bit of a daredevil looking to bound over moguls and rocket down tricky slopes, then fear not as you will find 103 red runs for your warm up and then 53 black runs to really showcase your talent! With 70% of runs over 2000m, experts will have no trouble in unearthing a challenge! There is a magnificent 7km run (one of Europe’s longest) down the L’ Aiguille Rouge that involves a 2000m vertical drop, leading you the quaint ski area of Villaroger and  you can do this without having to take a single lift!

If you are a bit like me, and the thought of the above makes you feel a little nervous, then keep calm and carry on, as you are still looking in the right place. You can enjoy coasting along the huge variety of beginner to intermediate slopes. There are 195 green and blue runs to choose from all entwined within scenery and landscapes that are guaranteed to spoil the eye!

Snowboarders will also be able to revel in the fantastic snow conditions as there are 3 excellent snowparks with a video live park, 3 boardercross, 4 boardergliss and 2 halfpipes.

The Paradiski area is a special place for me as it is where I learnt to ski, and one thing I noticed about learning here was that even on the flat of a green run (which is where I spent most of the week, I wasn’t the quickest learner), you look around you and still get that amazing ‘top of the world’ feeling, something we at Ski Total, feel everyone should experience!
